Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Expansion
Traverse City, Michigan
Commercial Masonry Construction | Expansion & Renovation | Project in Progress
Nickel Masonry is proud to be part of the ongoing expansion and renovation of the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA in Traverse City, Michigan, working alongside Cunningham-Limp on this exciting community development project.
The project includes renovations to the existing YMCA facility and construction of a new field house, expanding the space available for recreation, athletics, and community activities.
A key feature of the new construction is the use of split-face concrete masonry units (CMU), which provide a durable, textured architectural finish. Split-face block is an excellent choice for commercial and recreational facilities, combining the strength and longevity of concrete masonry with an attractive, natural stone-like appearance.
As construction progresses, the masonry work is helping shape the structure and architectural character of the new field house. From the exterior masonry walls to the interior block construction, the project highlights the importance of quality craftsmanship and precision in large-scale commercial construction.
The expanded Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is scheduled to open in late summer 2027. Nickel Masonry looks forward to seeing this project come together and contributing to a facility that will serve the Traverse City community for years to come.
